i have to post this cause i was thinking about this during one of the papers. haha. so apparently i wasnt concentrating well on the papers huh. i figured that the time they give is roughly the time you need to complete the paper, so if u happen to have LOADS of time left (eg phys ppr 3) it means that you're gonna fail, cause you have nothing left to write. and i hate those moments whereby time pases so slowly when half your paper is blank, you just wish they would collect the papers that very moment then everyone else who knows how to do will be on roughly the same footing as you. haha. but anyhow i love mcqs, cause its a quick painless kill. approx 1 hour, its over. and if you really dont know, you guess, you might get it correct. and, since the machine marks your answer script, there wont be any teachers (esp your tutor) who might just have a good laugh over the stupidity of your working and answer. haha.
when students get frozen to death in the hall, frantically mess up their papers and race against time, invigilators turn into air-con remote controllers, string dispensers and emotionless zombies. i hate it most when invigilators who are your tutors walk extremely slowly past your table and try to decipher what you are reading, or walk past your class row the last 10 mins as a 'reminder' to wrap up your conclusion. its so stressful! but i guess being an invigilator isnt easy too, cause you would have to bear the long hours doing nothing but walking up and down the rows and taking attendance. so, if i were an invigilator, i would:
-admire all the different jackets worn by the students, and rank my top 5
-stare at the students' ez-link/ICs closely, and laugh secretly at all the unglam shots taken when they were younger, or how weird they look in black and white and compare how different they look in real life. haha.
-look for a fellow invigilator, and gossip about my students. i guess it would sound something like this ' eh N22 has been together with G16 since last year leh' then since all the helpless studens are stuck to their seats, if you didnt know your student's other half, it would be the perfect chance to check them out. haha.
-give the students a shock by speaking directly into the mike breaking the silence and say 'you have 10 mins left'. (usually the practice not to scare students is to gently tap onto the mike first then speak into it.)
-stand on the stage and see how many huge pimples i can spot from afar on my poor students' foreheads (note: pimples and stress levels have a very positive linear correlation)
alright that should be about all, and if i dont happen to do well for the prelims, you'll know why cause weird stuff is going on in my head during the papers. but you'll never know, the invigilators might just be trying out the above. (:
FROM CLAUDIA's blog.
After that went to play pool with Jingwen Terence Darren Limzy Weicheng Joe Graham and Rongjun. Graham came up with this cool system of playing, like some World Cup qualifiers like that. haha. Darren and I had some mini debate over whether the winner of the first pair should vs the winner of the second pair or the loser of the second pair instead. Graham's Theory is that the winner of the first pair won't have any incentive to win if he is going to be up against another winner next. His theory is that if winner going to play winner then loser going to play loser then a good player would rather lose, then get to play someone worse and win easily. lol. Darren's Theory is that if winner play loser than the loser win and advance, the winner did not benefit from anything at all despite winning the first round. haha. he says that someone can win the first two rounds and still lose to someone who lost the first two rounds and that person qualifies for the top four still. haha I think both make sense la. can debate some more next time. =D And I can't believe I drank bubble tea twice in a day. haha before going up to the pool place I bought Grape Ice Blended coz the weather was so hot. After that they all keep buying Chocolate Oreo Ice Blended tempt me to buy again. LOL.. pictures later too. got some funny picture of Joe looking like he's posing for some modelling agency.took it while he was talking to Weicheng. like a real horse! hahaha.
