Four weeks have passed since I entered OCS,
and it has been really good so far.
first thing good on the first day was knowing that
nat is in my SECTION. how lucky, fhell!
we're in FOXTROT WING, platoon 2 section 2.
a pity tsam is in TANGO wing, damn. but we see each other
in the dining hall quite often, anyway.
The first ceremony on the first day was when
we were given our first cadet bar. prior to that,
I didn't really expect nor think about getting the cadet rank
so when we got it IT FELT GOOD. WE'RE CADETS NOW!
We have something, cool on our shoulders! WHOO.
now, we already have 2 bars and we'll get our 3rd
one in a few months time. after that,
it'll be commissioning time and we'll get our
black solid chocolate bar! date: 131208
LONG WAY TO GO.
OCS is the place to be,
especially after experiencing the recruit days at BMT.
We get treated with much more respect, we learn meaningful stuff,
do meaningful stuff, and with the ranks on our shoulders,
we have every incentive and responsibility to behave like an officer.
In BMT we're supposed to just do what we're told to do. Now, we're supposed
to learn how to command. Learn how to lead people to do what they
are supposed to do. In BMT, you don't really ask why, just do it.
In OCS, theres a rational in everything you do, and the instructors
are freakin reasonable people.
Our instructors told us that they'll leave us alone as long as
we maintain our discipline and standard, so we won't have
tekan sessions, turnouts for no reasons, etc.
(Disclaimer: Does not apply to all wings!)
and hell, this style fits me totally, and everyone should be envious! haha.
we have a 12 day field camp ahead in tekong in May,
which is pretty daunting.
Thank goodness it ends before 18th May! lol.
We're also going to fire the SAR21 this week, and we're only
going to book out next sunday and book back in on monday.
We have an assignment to do this weekend,
gotta draw up some battle plan. lol. Im making OCS sound
cool and fun. YES IT IS COOL AND FUN. (SO FAR)
alright gtg. the above is quite incoherent cuz
i was just typing whatever comes to mind. Bottomline is
that if ure a chao recruit and you wanna make full use of
ure time after BMT, aim for OCS! I'll leave you guys with
the Officer's Creed, which we all recite before every water parade.
it aint like any other lame thing you think it is, because
every word of it is significant to us, and it'll guide us on
for the next 8 months and beyond. and yes, we're proud to be in OCS.
totally unashamed to declare that.
Good welfare is tough training =)
"We are the Officer Cadets of OCS. To inspire us onwards as
Officers to be, we now state with reverence and respect,
the Officer's Creed."

adapted from dehnails blog. hope he doesnt mind. remind me to read this post again just before i report to ocs ok? gives u motivation. like being psyched up to own the route on the wall =D
ANYWAY. back to update u on my life.
its climbin climbing and more CLIMBING. one week 7 days. i climb 4days. im shocked and amazed at myself sometimes. BUT. what can i do if i just have that undying passion to just grope tiles on e wall?? the thrill of doing moves i thought impossible or just defeating myself, provin myself wrong that i CAN actually do that crazy move and get that tile just leaves me wanting for more. to go back for more, to just try that route this one more time. thats y i just wanna keep climbing just keeep going back to e wall. oh man. imma a geeky climber as what kelly would say. HAHA!
as i was saying. last sunday once at CA with shu and e girls n tt angmoh guy. on wednesday, when capt desmond released us from SAF ferry terminal becos he couldnt make it on time for e ferry timing, i haf like half day off so i went down CA again with shu and e girls AGAIN. and dis time there were pleasant surprises from Wanting our senior, stella puayhoon and jade and this old NTU guy who is damn strong. of cos there was beatrix to again show me how its done on the wall. haha.
den it would be friday. when i was "made to take forced leave" as the perm staff in AFRC had stand down day. so off day on a friday = going back tj for trng with juniors. friday's trng was with terence. he had an off day straining his muscle rather early. tt left him nth much to do since his hands rendered him useless already.. so he decided to go to run 15rnds arnd e track. what army has done to us 19yr old boys -_- ANYWAY. friday was a good climbing day for me as what philip would say. i finished a few yellow / blue routes on e wall. sth i nv thought i could have done. at least not on that day. but the feeling came. my muscles and strength didnt let me down and soon i found myself screaming in exhilration after jumping off e wall from e last tile. wu-sar! 2 blue and 4 black to go! haha what a way to see it.
saturday was e 4th climbing day of the week. and hell was it crowded. 7 yr5 seniors. 4 yr3 girls. 7 yr3 guys (includin me) . the whole of yr2 and the comp team of yr1. talk about tjc climbing club and its history of alumni. anyway saturday was a fun day. the seniors came back to show e juniors what we were made of and that some of the laojiaos still have it. haha. and e funny incident of LIMZY TRIPPIN ON THE MAT WHEN HE WANTED TO DO A ROUTE. that really got all of us rofl. after sat's trng. we went jingwen house for mahjong. after that we caught ironman with bel. and honestly. tt show is not bad! its actually quite nice despite my heavy doubts of it being a good show. past marvel superhero shows were so-so just flirted with my attention for awhile like xmen fantastic4 spiderman daredevil and stuffs like tt. ironman came close to doing a transformer! and we all know who imba transformer was. so for thoes transformer fans like me out there. go catch ironman. its a mini robot wars. and e gadgets and weapons? they make you drool. albeit e techonology being a tad too unrealistic. if a generator is so imba. why need power plants when you can have a fist sized generator to power a war machine?
ok so e qns remains. to join or not to join. rockmasters? pumpfest? in any case. i'll be climbing till e day comes. shit i sound like a last samurai cos it just aired on channel 5 just now. ERR!
